Cancellation Policy
Only written requests received at FEMA by Friday, February 17, 2023 will receive a refund, less a $50 administrative fee. No refunds will be granted for requests made after that date, and no refunds will be given for no-shows.
Substitutions
Attendee substitutions may be made at any time, provided that the substitute is from the same organization.
Recommended Dress
Business casual attire is appropriate for all events.

Understanding FDA’s Approach to Cannabis Science, Policy, and Regulation
Patrick Cournoyer, PhD
Lead, FDA Cannabis Product Committee
Dr. Cournoyer leads the FDA’s Cannabis Product Committee, managing and coordinating the Agency's cannabis-related activities. Before starting this position in 2022, he served on the CPC for the Office of Food Additive Safety (OFAS) in the FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), advising on food ingredient regulation of cannabis-derived substances, including cannabidiol and hemp seed. In OFAS, Dr. Cournoyer specialized in the food safety evaluation of new plant varieties, including those developed through genetic engineering and genome editing. Before joining the FDA in 2013, he completed his Ph.D. at Yale University, where he investigated the cell and molecular biology of the plant immune system.
