Format Changes
This year's convention has been streamlined to provide the optimal networking and professional experience, while making the meeting more affordable for the association and for our member companies.
New to the 2011 Annual Convention:
- The New Member reception on Sunday evening will no longer be at a separate location. It will simply begin one hour before the Welcome Reception at the same location.
- On Monday evening there will be a networking cocktail reception, but not a dinner. Dinner will be “on your own” with discounts for FEMA attendees at most of the Breaker’s restaurants.
- The Tuesday “black tie” dinner becomes a casual buffet dinner, similar to traditional Monday night dinners. Seating will be open.
- Golf and tennis tournaments are being discontinued due to declining attendance. FEMA staff will be available to work with the Breakers to make arrangements for those wishing to play golf or tennis. No change to the fishing tournament, which has been increasingly popular in recent years.
- Wednesday’s Annual Business Meeting will take place in the same room as the Hot Topics Breakfast.
- All events and meetings, but Tuesday Dinner, are now Business Casual. The Tuesday Dinner is Resort Casual.
These changes will reduce expenses for FEMA and for your companies, but the FEMA Annual Convention will still be the premiere information and networking opportunity for the flavor industry. For more information contact John Cox at 202-293-5800 or [email protected].
